	Vacation Rental Policies

	The following is a brief outline of policies that pertain to renting and usage of our listed vacation rentals properties. Just click Back to return to the main Vacation Rental page.


	Payment We accept cash, money order, cashiers check, traveler’s checks, and personal check or Visa, MasterCard and Discover. (When paying for your final stay, if you choose to pay by credit card, there will be a 3% processing fee.) Age Restriction You must be at least 25 years of age to rent from Elson Shields Vacation Rentals. Damage At the time of booking a reservation we do charge a fully refundable security deposit to hold all reservations and to guard against excessive cleaning or damage to the rented property. Cleaning Fee A non-refundable cleaning fee is charged irrespective of the length of stay. This covers laundering sheets and towels, remaking the beds and cleaning associated with “normal” use. Upon your departure you will be expected to take out the garbage, run the dishwasher, and start a load of towels in the washer. The home should be left in a reasonably clean condition. Lodging Tax There is now an additional charge on all bookings, a 1% State Lodging tax. Check-In Time Check in time is between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the office of Elson Shields Property Management, located in Old Town Florence. Special arrangements can be made for after hours check-in. Check-out Time Check out is to be accomplished by 12:00 p.m. the day of departure. Pets Pets may or may not be allowed subject to approval by the property owner. If pets are allowed, a non-refundable pet fee of $50 is required. The only exception is that multiple animals and dogs such as Rottweilers and Pit Bulls are not allowed! Smoking Sorry, but we do not allow smoking in any of our houses. Thanks! Cancellations We require cancellation to be made at least 2 weeks prior to arrival date. Cancellations made after this date will cause you to forfeit your full Security Deposit. All other cancellations will be charged a $25.00 service fee. We hope you will enjoy your stay! Please remember to treat our houses as you would your own!
